oneyellowfinch.com/6 – Water is an essential human need, yet 1 in 10 people do not have access to clean water. In this episode, learn with me how we can change that. I’m donating my 31st birthday this year to try to raise $930 so that 31 people can drink clean water for the first time in their lives. I have enough stuff, plenty of stuff, actually TOO much stuff! And I don’t need any more things. (And if you were already contemplating buying me a birthday present, or even buying me a birthday card for $3.10; please reconsider. Please give whatever you would have spent on providing the means for Charity: Water to change someone’s life forever. And if you weren’t thinking about giving me a gift, great! I don’t need one, but please give the gift of water to somebody else that you don’t even know, maybe a mother who wants to give health and hope to her children, a grandfather who has never drunk clean water in his life. I hope you’ll join me in this effort, whether you have 31 cents to give, or $31 dollars, or more, every bit will help, and 100% of your donation will go directly to a water project that will give clean water to people in desperate need. I hope my birthday will make it possible for 31 people to have many more decades of birthdays to come.
Normally, I don’t go around shouting about my birthday. Once I past my mid-twenties, it didn’t seem as though my birthday mattered as much anymore. I was just grateful to be alive. Of course it felt great to be celebrated by my family and close friends, and to receive well wishes, but I am learning that it feels even more satisfying and soul fulfilling to make celebrations possible for others. So, I’m changing it up this year! I’m going to shout about my 31st birthday, September 16th from the rooftops so that together, we can make more birthdays possible for 31 people. This episode of the Making Hope Podcast was inspired by this episode of the Rich Roll Podcast:
I highly recommend it. You’ll get to hear Scott Harrison’s life story, and how he created the organization Charity: Water, and how you can make it possible for others to have clean water.

It’s so easy! You can used PayPal, credit or debit. Thank you in advance for making hope for 31 people in honor of my birth and life!
I have just made the first donation of $31 to this campaign (in the place of a birthday present I probably would have bought for myself 😉

Please share this. Share it with even just one person, or better yet, with everyone you know! Let’s spread the word and make some hope!
P.S. I’m so sorry about the poor sound quality of my podcast recordings. I’m doing these on the fly, whenever I can get a spare moment alone (which isn’t often with a 5 year old and a 10 month old with me full-time). My oldest son starts school in 2 weeks, so the rhythm of our life is about to change drastically! And hopefully, so will the quality of the technical aspects of the podcast!
